Support, relief and hope for cancer patients and their families

Our beginnings
We are a non-profit organization founded to keep alive the legacy of Dr. Petión E. Rivera Rosario, for his service, generosity, and dedication to others. He was a great humanist, a pediatrician by vocation, and deeply committed to service, particularly to the less fortunate. Family members, colleagues, and friends of Dr. Rivera, who shared his experience with cancer, identified the need for guidance for cancer patients and their families. On March 15, 2004, the Dr. Petión E. Rivera Rosario Foundation was established with the Department of State, under registration number 44,406. Since then, we have assisted nearly 2,000 patients and their families.

about us
Mission
To help cancer patients and their families throughout their treatment process. To contribute to making what is difficult more bearable and to making what seems impossible a reality.
Vision
To provide support to cancer patients, taking into account the Foundation's financial capacity to contribute to expenses. These expenses may include medical and hospital services, medications, tests, laboratory services, transportation, lodging, equipment, or any other medically required expenses. In addition, to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to both the patient and their family.
Gratitude
Puerto Rico is known for its generosity. Proof of this is the tremendous support from all our sponsors. Our goal is to transform tears into smiles, to alleviate the pain and worries that patients and their families always face in their fight against cancer. The task hasn't been easy, but your contributions have made it possible. There's still a long way to go, but with dedication and your support, we will succeed.
Know that we are eternally indebted to all of you.

In memory of Quetcy M. Matos Cruz
Her fight for life and the courage with which she faced her illness were a source of inspiration for our Foundation. An example of love and resilience for all. She was born on September 24, 1980, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was a loving, humble, and very healthy girl until she was 19, when she was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin's lymphoma. Today, Quetcy is no longer with us. She passed away at only 24 years old, leaving all of us who knew her a legacy of love for life and family. She was an example of struggle, perseverance, dedication, sacrifice, and kindness.
Donations
These are economically challenging times; however, charitable institutions like ours survive thanks to the donations of kind-hearted people like you. Your generosity allows us to provide treatment and medical assistance to those who need it most, making a real difference in the lives of our patients. Thank you so much for your donation. We encourage you to continue supporting our cause and share our message with family and friends so that more people can benefit.
